From an Empty Wall to a More Refined Setup
The wall behind Yuri Miyazato’s setup had been bothering him for some time. As part of his ongoing “dream setup” project, he wanted to completely refresh the space and give it a more intentional, finished appearance.
To begin the transformation, Yuri installed 14 Arrowzoom Hemisphere Grid Solid Colors acoustic foam panels (KK1056) across selected sections of the wall. His goal was to upgrade the backdrop without covering the entire surface, combining the panels with other decorative elements to create a more distinctive setup.
The Review
Before installing the panels, Yuri recorded the room using his camera’s built-in audio without an external microphone. He planned to repeat the test afterward so viewers could hear whether the room sounded different following the installation.
The setup process proved refreshingly straightforward. Yuri simply removed the backing and placed each panel onto the wall, describing the application as “very, very easy.” He also highlighted how easily the panels could be removed whenever repositioning was needed—particularly useful when aligning multiple pieces into a clean geometric arrangement.
When a full panel would not fit into a smaller section, Yuri found the foam easy to cut and shape for the available space. The included smaller pieces also helped him fill certain gaps without needing to trim a complete panel.
Once the installation was finished, the Hemisphere Grid texture added depth and visual interest to the wall. Yuri said he liked the result, while his partner described the refreshed setup as “chic,” “more sophisticated,” and “modern.”
Yuri then repeated his camera-audio test and felt that the room’s sound had changed, although he did not make a definitive performance claim. He also noted that the treated wall sits directly behind his neighbor’s bedroom, joking that his neighbor would appreciate the upgrade.
