Isolator or absorber? Read this first

This pad does two related jobs. As an isolator it decouples the speaker from the desk so vibration can't travel into the surface and color your low end — that's the main reason your bass tightens up. As an absorber, the high-density foam soaks up some of the vibration energy itself. What it does not do is treat your whole room — for flutter echo and reflections you still want wall panels. We'd rather you understand exactly what this fixes than have you return it expecting room treatment.

Set up in 4 steps

1. Clear the desk or stand surface where each monitor sits.
2. Place a pad flat — or use the angled sections to tilt the monitor toward your ears.
3. Set the monitor squarely on top, centered so it's fully supported.

Why we're different from no isolation

Technical reference — isolation, NRC, and what a riser pad does

One number gets thrown around for foam, and one concept matters more for this product:

• NRC (Noise Reduction Coefficient): how much sound a material absorbs. Acoustic foam like this typically carries a labeled NRC around 0.45–0.90 depending on density and thickness. Useful context — but for a riser pad, NRC isn't really the point.
• Isolation / decoupling: the real job. By sitting between the monitor and the desk, the pad stops vibration from coupling into the surface. That's what tightens the bass and sharpens the image — it's mechanical decoupling, not room absorption.

Honest answer: this pad's job is isolation — decoupling your monitor from the desk so the low end is tight and accurate. It does not treat your room's echo and reflections, and there's no meaningful STC rating for a foam pad (STC describes a full wall assembly, not an accessory).
