KK1471 is Arrowzoom's Series PRO pyramid foam — engineered for home studios, podcast rooms, drum rooms, and gaming setups where thin 2″ foam doesn't cut it. With NRC 0.92 across the speech and music bands, it absorbs reflections that cause echo, flutter, and that boxy "small room" sound. Pick the 4″ (10cm) tile for vocals and speech, or step up to 6″ (15cm) when you need to tame low-mid bass build-up.

How acoustic foam actually works

Sound waves carry energy. When they hit a hard wall, most of that energy bounces back into the room — that's the "echo." Acoustic foam converts that energy into a tiny amount of heat inside its open-cell structure. The thicker and denser the foam, the lower the frequencies it can absorb. 1″ foam handles high frequencies only. 4″ handles mids. 6″ reaches into the low-mids where bass guitar, kick drum, and male vocals live.

What NRC 0.92 actually means

NRC (Noise Reduction Coefficient) is a single-number score from 0 to 1 — the fraction of sound energy a panel absorbs. Higher = quieter room.

  1. Unpack and rest. Lay tiles flat for 24 hours so any compression marks from shipping decompress.
  2. Mark the wall. Identify the first reflection points (front wall, side walls at ear height, ceiling above mix position).
  3. Apply adhesive. Spray adhesive or 3M Command strips on the back of each tile. For renters, use removable strips.
  4. Press and hold. Press firmly for 30 seconds. Work in a grid for clean alignment.
  5. Test the room. Clap once at your mix position. If the slap-back is gone and your voice sounds dry, you're done. If not, add more panels at the corners.
