Install in 4 steps
- Wipe the ceiling. Remove dust with a damp microfiber cloth. Let it dry. Adhesive needs a clean, dry surface to grip.
- Plan your pattern. Lay tiles on the floor in the layout you want. 30–50% coverage in a checker, gradient, or chevron pattern beats wall-to-wall.
- Peel and press. Peel the backing, lift the tile to the ceiling, press firmly for 10 seconds. Move to the next.
- Roll the edges. Run a credit card or a small roller along all four edges to set the adhesive. Done.

How much sound will this block between floors?
None. These are absorption panels — they reduce echo inside a room, not noise transfer between rooms. For floor/ceiling soundproofing you need mass (drywall + Green Glue or MLV).
What does NRC ~0.40 mean in plain English?
Roughly 40% of the mid/high-frequency sound that hits the panel is absorbed instead of bouncing back. Less echo, clearer voices, less room sound on a podcast mic.
Will the adhesive damage my paint or popcorn ceiling?
On flat painted drywall it's removable with care but may pull paint after months. On popcorn, textured, or unfinished ceilings the adhesive doesn't grip well — use double-sided mounting tape or hook-and-loop strips instead.
Can I paint these?
No — paint clogs the felt fibers and kills the absorption. Pick the color you want at order time (6 options).
How many do I need for a 12 × 12 ft (3.7 × 3.7 m) room?
Full ceiling ≈ 144 sq ft / 13.4 m² = ~150 panels. Most buyers don't tile the whole ceiling — 30–50% pattern coverage (45–75 panels) gives most of the acoustic benefit at a fraction of the cost.
Are they fire-rated?
PET felt is treated to resist ignition. For commercial installs (offices, schools, public buildings) request the certified lab report — code requirements vary by jurisdiction.
Will my cat or kids pull them off?
Below 6 ft / 1.8 m, yes, eventually. These are designed for ceilings and high walls. For low walls in a kid/pet zone, pick a thicker panel (KK1145).
What's the smell when the box arrives?
Mild factory smell that airs out in 24–48 hours. PET felt is non-toxic — no formaldehyde, no off-gassing — but new fabric in a sealed box always smells like new fabric.
Do I need a backer board or air gap behind the panel?
No. The self-adhesive bonds directly to drywall, plywood, or finished wood. An air gap improves low-frequency absorption — but for overhead echo, direct bonding is the right call.
