STC (Sound Transmission Class) is a numerical rating of how effective a material blocks the transmission of sound through itself. The rating is applicable for hard materials such as rubberized sound barriers, concrete, brick, and drywall. It also applies to a much lesser degree to softer materials like mineral fiber, with a test as part of a wall system to verify its effectiveness.
Follow the guidelines below to install acoustic panels to your walls step by step.
Follow the instruction in this video to extract the acoustic foam.
Put the Studio Foam out for your specific application. Keep in mind that you want the foam evenly distributed throughout the room.
Measure any areas that need to be field cut on the foam and make the appropriate cuts (examples would be around beams, doorways, or if a short piece is needed). After all the pieces have been field cut, put the material back in the appropriate position on the wall or ceiling and lightly mark the bottom and side of where each piece will be lightly with a pencil to ensure straight application.
There are two ways to put the acoustic foams on the designated wall.
Method 1: Use Arrowzoom Sticky Double Sided Tape. Each foam should use 4 tapes. One for each corner. Once you peel off the sticker, the Acoustic Foams should easily sticky to the surface of your choice.
Method 2: Glue each piece individually with PL Polyurethane Construction Adhesive. Create a perimeter around the outside of the material staying 1 1/2" away from the edge. Create an X pattern across the center of the material.
(Note: Due to Shipping Reason, we do not sell Glue)
Line up the materials on marked lines from Step 3 and press firmly against the material compressing the foam. Repeat step for remaining pieces of foam.

After researching on how to renovate my second floor. I decided to soundproof the room before turning it into my music studio. I ordered 100 pcs of gray and 100 pcs of blue along with 34 sets of 24 pcs of tape. The delivery was within two weeks, Somehow it was delivered into 2 parcels. The foam came in sealed. It took me 24 hours to decompress it. Luckily there was a tutorial video of showing how to decompress and install it.
The whole room took about 3 days in total to complete. 24 hours to depress, and two days to install. I am so excited about the finished result! Absolutely looking forward to putting my drum set and keyboard in here.
This is a quick fix to my home theater. I ordered 48 pieces gray pyramid. It is easy to install. I will buy a second order for my other room!
Foam came quicker than expected! Let it expand a day or 2 and turned out great! I have a live streaming studio and plan on purchasing more to fill up my walls! :)
