About sound absorption (read this before you buy)
The tape itself has no NRC or STC rating — those are sound-absorption metrics for the foam the tape holds up. What the tape does is keep your acoustic foam flush against the wall, which is what lets the foam's NRC rating actually work. Typical premium acoustic foam delivers:

Install in 5 steps
- Wipe the wall and the back of your foam panel with a dry cloth. No dust, no oil.
- Cut four strips of tape, each about 3 in / 7.5 cm long, from the roll.
- Peel one side of each strip and press firmly to the four corners on the back of the foam panel.
- Peel the second backing off all four strips.
- Position the panel on the wall and press hard for 10 seconds per corner. Done.

How many foam panels does one 10 m roll cover?
Roughly 30 standard 12 in / 30 cm acoustic panels, using 4 strips per panel (~3 in / 7.5 cm each = ~12 in / 30 cm per panel). For 24 in / 60 cm hexagons or 2 in+ thick wedges, plan on 18–24 in / 45–60 cm of tape per panel, which works out to about 20 panels per roll.
Will it really come off without damaging my paint?
Yes — when removed correctly. Pull the foam panel slowly, parallel to the wall (not straight out), at a low angle. The adhesive releases cleanly from latex paint, primer, semi-gloss, and eggshell. For old or chalky paint, do a 24-hour patch test in a hidden spot first.
Why a roll instead of pre-cut tabs (KK1207)?
Cost and flexibility. If you're mounting 10 or more panels, the roll is meaningfully cheaper per panel and you cut the exact length each panel needs. If you only have a handful of panels and don't want to fuss with scissors, KK1207's 24 pre-cut tabs are easier.
Does it have an NRC or STC rating?
No — and any seller telling you otherwise is making it up. NRC and STC are properties of the foam you mount, not the tape. Premium 2 in / 5 cm acoustic foam typically delivers NRC 0.70–0.95 in the voice and music range. KK1329 is the accessory that holds that foam flat against the wall so its rating actually works.
Will it hold up in summer heat or a humid bathroom?
Yes — the adhesive is rated 14°F to 122°F (-10°C to 50°C). It handles attic studios, garages, and humid rooms. The most common failure cause is dusty walls — wipe before applying.
Can I reposition a panel after sticking it?
Yes — gently. Within the first 30 minutes you can peel the panel off and re-stick once or twice. After that the adhesive cures and the bond is much stronger. Plan placement before pressing hard.
What surfaces should I avoid?
Textured wallpaper, raw brick, freshly painted walls (wait 14 days for paint to cure), unsealed drywall, rough concrete, and any surface that's dusty, oily, or wet. Smooth, clean, dry, sealed = perfect.
Is the tape visible after install?
No. The tape is transparent, only 0.79 in / 2 cm wide, and sits behind the foam panel. Once the panel is on the wall, the tape is completely hidden. The ~1 mm of standoff between foam and wall is acoustically irrelevant.
Can I use it for things other than acoustic foam?
Yes — many customers use it for posters, lightweight decor, picture frames under 1 lb / 450 g, cable management, and rug anchoring. It's a damage-free general-purpose mounting tape. We sell it as an acoustic accessory because that's where the demand is.
